Who are the Friends of Bidston Hill
The Friends of Bidston Hill was set up following an ill-advised decision to remove plants in an uncontrolled and unacceptable fashion some 8 years ago.
The protests that followed resulted in a review of the policy and the promise of a management plan from Wirral Council.
The Friends group is a collection of interested people who want to ensure the Hill remains an unspoilt nature reserve.
We meet regularly by public open meeting to discuss matters that relate to the Hill. We try to have interesting speakers at all our open meetings and these are often related to aspects of the natural habitats and history of the Hill and the immediate environs.
The committee meets more frequently and is trying to act a as link to the Council to ensure that our opinions are taken into account when decisions are made regarding the management of the Hill and its amenities. |
